The Garibaldi Gorge is on Rough Ridge on Gararawaye property. Mining took place in the 1860's and is at the top of the gorge. When Charles and Sarah Dougherty lived in the coalpit house near the bottom of the gorge they sometimes had visits from Italian Scisilian and Maltese gold miners.
