Sixteen year old Rebecca Looker born Stepney London in 1849,  travelling companion of Phoebe Westlake also about 16 left London on the 11th September 1865 and arrived at Port Chalmers Otago New Zealand on the 14th December 1865. The girls were 1st cousins the relationship comes through their common ancestors the Laws family.  Phoebe's Mother Phoebe Laws and Rebecca's Mother Rebecca Laws were sisters. Phoebe married William Evans and Rebecca married Richard Dunn born Redruth Cornwall England in 1837. Rebecca and Richard married in Otago in 1869. They lived Waipori Otago N.Z. where he was a miner. Martha was born in 1869 in Waipori, John born 1870 Waipori, Richard born 1872 in Waipori he died in Australia aged 21, Elizabeth born 1875 in Kaitangata, Eliza Jane born 1877 in Clinton South Otago, James Henry born 1879 in Clinton, Hannah born 1882 at Shag Point East Otago, William born 1884 Beardy Plain N.S.W. and May born 1886 in South Sydney died in Westport aged 77.   Richard Dunn mined on the West Coast South Island from from at least 1911 he was 74 and lived in Romilly Street Westport until he died. He is buried in the Ororwaiti cemetery Westport 14 August 1923...  After her husband died Rebecca went to live with son John in Upper Hutt she died there in 1931 aged 81.

Richard Dunn's record in the Ororwaiti cemetery is for 14 August 1923..

That date may have been when he was buried. The NZ historical BDM's confirm his date of death as being 12th Aug 1923. Sadly his grave is without headstone.
